South Carolina Broadcasters
Hi Folks.

We brought some newer music to the show today.  Long-time listeners know we focus on the period from the 1920s to the 1960s, but we are always on the lookout for new music that sounds like it could have been viable during that time.  We had some good ones in that category today.

We also took advantage of a sports event ending early before our show to grab an extra 40 minutes of "pre-show."  We heard selections from a Doc Watson concert, and some early country music on the Bluebird label from the 1930s.

Newer music on the show came from The South Carolina Broadcasters, Joe Rose, Johnny and Edith Jackson with James Stiltner, and Ralph Stanley II.

We also had some rare radio transcriptions from J. E. Mainer and Bill Monroe leading up to Joe Bussard's 76th program which included a concert by Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper recorded by Joe at New River Ranch in Rising Sun, MD, in 1955.

We hope you enjoyed the music we brought you on this show. Tune in to WHUS next Sunday 2-4 pm ET for another look into our musical legacy followed by Bluegrass Cafe which Jim will also host.
