Playlist - 2/8/2015 - Valentine's Day and Counterpoints

Hi Folks.

The upcoming Valentine's Day was partial inspiration for the song selections on this show.  While Jim selected rural love songs, as they were, from some Yazoo collections along with some great folk love songs by Bradley Kincaid, Marti provided the counterpoint with songs from a collection called "Hillbilly Honeymoon - Manhaters, Misogynists, and Marital Mayhem."  With a title like that, you know the ride is going to be interesting.

Rose Maddox

In addition to the love and anti-love songs, we heard from Rose Maddox, Sam & Kirk McGee, J. P. Nester & Norman Edmonds, Buell Kazee, and the relatively obscure Wilmer Watts & The Lonely Eagles.
